LİM PROTOCOL İN CHRONİC PROSTATİTİS

What is the LIM Protocol?
In patients diagnosed with chronic prostatitis, the condition involves significant inflammation and edema within the prostate gland. These pathological changes lead to the disruption and obstruction of circulation in the venous and lymphatic structures surrounding the prostate, a condition known as pelvic congestion. Consequently, the nerves adjacent to the prostate are compressed, resulting in the well-known symptoms of prostatitis.
Simply treating the prostate gland in isolation is often insufficient for a permanent cure. It is essential to address and correct the obstruction in the vascular structures to achieve long-term relief. To meet this clinical need, we have developed the unique LIM Protocol, a treatment program that is individually tailored following a detailed consultation with the patient.
The Three Stages of the LIM Protocol
The LIM Protocol is a multi-faceted treatment strategy consisting of three primary stages designed to address the root causes of the condition:
- Intraprostatic injections
- Deep abdominopelvic massage (abdomen and pelvis)
- Oral medical and phytotherapeutic agents
1. Intraprostatic Injections
The primary goal of intraprostatic injections is to reduce inflammation and edema directly within the prostate. This procedure utilizes very thin spinal needles, typically used for nerve numbing, to ensure precision. The treatment is performed under sterile conditions and guided by transrectal USG (ultrasonography).
During the procedure, multiple injections are targeted specifically at inflamed and calcified areas of the prostate. The injection cocktail, which includes antibiotics and corticosteroids, is customized based on leukocyte counts in the prostate fluid observed under a microscope, alongside PCR tests and cultures. The protocol typically involves 6-8 sessions administered once a week. Aside from temporary hemospermia, the procedure has no significant side effects.
2. Deep Abdominopelvic Massage
This stage involves a specialized organ massage targeting the upper and lower abdomen using a two-handed technique. By reducing congestion and edema in the abdomen and pelvis, this method significantly improves blood, lymph, and nerve flow. It also serves to release emotional tension that may cause unnecessary physical stress.
The benefits of deep abdominopelvic massage include:
- Improving the body’s ability to repair and rebalance itself.
- Enhancing the circulation and function of internal organs.
- Ensuring the removal of venous and lymphatic congestion.
- Calming the nervous system and increasing endocrine system communication.
- Providing positive effects on erectile dysfunction, sperm count, and premature ejaculation.
- Increasing blood flow specifically within the prostate and surrounding vessels.
Contraindications for Deep Massage
---
Intra-abdominal tumors or ongoing chemotherapy
Inguinal or umbilical hernia
Abdominal aortic aneurysm
3. Oral Medical and Phytotherapeutic Agents
As a Turkish urologist and phytotherapy specialist, Dr. Turk provides specially selected medical and phytotherapeutic agents for each patient. These agents are arranged to meet the specific needs of the individual. The primary objective of this oral therapy is to increase blood flow in the prostate and genital organs while preventing further inflammation and edema in the surrounding vascular network.
