Prof. Dr. Yüksel Çiçek ; 1996 yılında Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden derece ile yüksek onur öğrencisi olarak mezun oldu. Aynı yıl Tıpta uzmanlık sınavını kazanarak Erciyes Üniversitesinde kardiyoloji ihtisasına başladı ve 2001 yılında kardiyoloji uzmanı oldu. Mecburi hizmet ve yedek subay olarak askerlik görevini tamamladıktan sonra Ankara Etlik ihtisas hastanesi kardiyoloji kliniğinde uzman doktor olarak çalıştı. Sonrasında akademik hayata geçip uzun süre üniversite öğretim üyeliği yaptı. Birçok öğrenci ve asistan yetiştirip mezun etmiştir. 55 adeti uluslararası makale yayını olmak üzere toplamda 150’nin üzerinde makale, sözlü bildiri, poster yayını bulunmaktadır. Şuan Medistate Kavacık Hastanesi’nde hizmet vermektedir..
