Ganglion aspiration request

Hello I have a ganglion on my left arm’s wrist and it began to cause pain in the wrist and arm. I went to a doctor and he said he would do a surgery to remove it, and when I asked him to do an aspiration, he refused to do it. Is it a good idea to do an aspiration to get rid of it? If yes, I would book an appointment to come and see you.
