Dear Mr Erdal, I heard many good things about you. My kid (12) has T1D and our doctor in Europe suggesting 120 ch per day but our doctor in Turkey suggested 240 ch per day for the same calorie intake. I did some reading and it seems decreasing ch for T1D results in more balanced blood sugar levels. The problem is that the ultra rapid insulin we use is great for high Ch meals but is less predictable for low ch meals because the protein and fat content raise blood sugar hours later when the rapid insulin wears off from the blood. I heard regular insulin is better for those people who follow a low ch diet. What do you think, if we constantly follow a low ch diet, would it be more reasonable to use regular insulin? We dont have a pump by the way. Thanks in advance.

Dear Eleonora, Sorry for late response because of my vacation. Many thanks for your nice thoughts. I think that 240 CH/day is a bit high. I prefer lower. Could you please write about kid's diabetes history and insulin doses? You can send it to my e-mail (erderen@yahoo.com). Best wishes Erdal
