Dear prof. I am a PhD student at hacettepe university. My name is Martin from Tanzania.I had unsuccessful inguinal hernia surgery 3 month ago. I am now in extreme pain and I feel like my intestines are twisted. I am under great tension, stress and fear. I real need your help. I am just a student with no job and I wonder how much cost you will take for the surgery. Thank you so much in advance
Dear Martin. Thank you for your inquiry. Debilitating pain after inguinal hernia surgery is a relativeliy common problem. The real reason is not clarified properly to date. Three months is quite a time however many surgeons prefer waiting for the end of the sixth month. I had coronary bypass surgery and have not been working for a while also because of the pandemic. Please stay calm. I just wonder if you previously had felt groin pain before surgery.
Dear prof. I am sorry to hear that and get well soon. My surgery went well and after a few days I recovered from the pain and the swelling but a month later everything changed. The bulge came back under the incision just like before with more pressure when I sit or do any physical movement. I can feel the pressure whenever I breathe in heavily or sneezing and it is painful. I get some relief only when I lay down flat on my back. A few days ago I started feeling pain around the umbilical cord and my digestion system seems to be abnormal. Before hernia surgery I also had my right testicle removed due to deformation (undescended testicle). I also experienced groin pain on the right side before hernia surgery but I thought maybe was due to orchiectomy. I am stressed and depressed because I do not know if my condition will get worse. I tried to inform my former surgeon but he seems to avoid me and I cannot go back to that hospital because of costs and unreliable services. If I can hold on for a while I will be grateful to receive your help.
It seems you need to see another surgeon for an exam and get and ultrasound imaging.
