FINDINGS: There is normal alignment of the lumbar spine on the sagittal view. Mild straightening of the spine is seen. The disc spaces are maintained. There is normal height of the vertebral bodies with normal bone marrow signal. No bone marrow edema, fracture or subluxation is noted. The intervertebral discs have normal hydration and are of normal height. The prevertebral soft tissues are unremarkable. The conus medullaris and cauda equina are unremarkable. Segmental anatomy is as follows: T12-L1, L1-2, L2-3 level are unremarkable. L3-4 level demonstrates broad-based disc bulge that effaces the anterior thecal sac.
